Over the past few weeks ive been indulging in the world of film photography. The unique pictures produced by different films and the metal camera bodies were factors that drew me in.
I dug out my mother's old canon AE-1 (5 million sold world wide!) and went about cleaning it. The lens had a ton of fungi on it so i used peroxide to clear most of it. The body was in good condition so i put in a fresh battery and a roll of film and away i went. Few weeks later, the results were not pleasing which i suspected would happen due to the fungi in the lens.
I then got a new camera body off ebay (pentax ME)and put on my 50mm pentax lens that i use with my digital cameras. The photos came out nice but it is obvious i need more practice in composing my pictures better which is made difficult by the fact I get limited exposures and cant see what the picture will look like (non-factors in the digital sense). After i took out my roll of film, i set off the self timer and something broke
Hopefully this experience with film will teach me to compose my pictures better and produce awesome photographs.
